Japanese gaming news company Famitsu sat with Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura at E3 2013 where he revealed more information regarding his plans for the next generation title. He says that though the announcement was early and that development is in very low stages, there is a lot of excitement towards it and he hopes to share more information at events within the year. Final Fantasy Versus XIII Info Ban Lifted? Nomura at E3 2013

Back in April, creative mayhem Tetsuya Nomura appeared on Square Enix radio show md RADIO, speaking briefly about the upcoming title Final Fantasy Versus XIII and how there had been a hold inside the company on releasing information regarding the it.

ー When will new information regarding Final Fantasy Versus XIII be announced?

Nomura: “Even within the company it’s a very delicate problem. The date when we can concretely lift the ban has been decided and we are preparing for that moment. Maybe the details as to why information couldn’t be released might be touched upon at the next information announcement. I’m sorry it’s already overdue, but please wait just a little more.”

Last night the second episode of md RADIO was leaked a day before it’s official release, where Nomura shared that he will be indeed attending E3 Expo 2013. Though he claimed it was for the sake of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix, many fans are coming to the same conclusion that was hinted about previously. His presence at the expo must have more to do than with this remaster.

Has the info ban on that title finally be lifted? We’ll find out this week.

Back Track: Final Fantasy Versus XIII 2008 Interviews

With E3 2013 right around the corner and the rumored return and revamping of Final Fantasy Versus XIII just a day away, I wanted to share some old interviews I had been archiving recently so we can remind ourselves of what fans of this overdue title have been so dearly clinging to for the past five years.

More time has passed since it’s initial announcement in 2006 but as I recall, the last time footage for the game was publicly revealed was in 2010. Will this E3 along with the premier of the PlayStation 4 coincide with new announcements for Final Fantasy Versus XIII? We can only hope. In the meantime, please enjoy the old interviews.

Nomura Interview Details KH 1.5 HD & More

Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura has been making the post Tokyo Game Show rounds discussing the new titles Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix for PS3 as well as the tentatively titled Kingdom Hearts for PC Browser.

Besides regaling some new information regarding the 358/2 Days role in the enhanced release, Nomura also revealed the browser game will be primarily single player and contain a new character. He also mentions that his role in the third compilation title Lightning Returns FFXIII is complete and that progress on the heavily anticipated Final Fantasy Versus XIII is coming along as expected. The acclaimed DS title The World Ends With You was also brought up, Nomura mentioning he hopes that fans enjoy the iOS port Solo Remix because he wants to expand the series.

Trailer Impressions for KH 1.5 HD and KH for PC

More details regarding the HD release of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 for PS3 as well as the tentative titled Kingdom Hearts for PC revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2012 have been shared by two avid Kingdom Hearts fans who attended today. I’ve translated their impressions of both trailers, a great big thanks to both of them for sharing in such detail!

From their impressions, it sounds like KHPC will be like Chain of Memories battle wise with Kingdom Hearts Mobile style graphics. As for KH 1.5 HD, fans will be happy to hear that scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days that were not previously pre-rendered will now be shown in full cinmenatics!

Square Enix brought a surprise to their Tokyo Game Show 2012 lineup by announcing the HD release of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 for PS3. The title is an HD remaster of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix previously released only in Japan and Re: Chain of Memories, it will also include remastered scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

On top of that, they announced a new social browser game called Kingdom Hearts for PC. Below I’ve translated the information released regarding the new title on the official blog, Message from the Kingdom.

These interview questions come from the CLOUD Message magazine published by Square Enix in 2008. It features articles and interviews with developers talking about their lineup at the time, including Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the only title from that lineup yet to be released.
