Final Mix trailer impressions from Arika at Rebirth Wings:
Trailer Details
According to reports, the trailer for Birth by Sleep Final Mix did not contain any new scenes. The trailer was the same as the one shown at Tokyo Game Show 2010, but with a bit of the newly release information added to it.
Ven in the Battle Mission
Same as revealed in the magazine, the battle mission scene took place in Deep Space. Striking the enemies makes them drop yellow spheres.
Illusion D with Ven and Illusion L with Aqua
They become wrapped in a pyramid and transform, same as arranged in the magazine spread.
Additional information from the latest issue of V-Jump: When using the Illusion command, using regular attacks will add to the battle style gauge and once it is full it will end the Illusion, so be careful.
Style Change “Rhythm Mixer”
To execute the finishing move, press square, triangle, circle appropriately and finally the circle button.
Additional information from the latest issue of V-Jump: The theme of this new style is sound. Pushing the buttons in the finishing combo causes a loud pop of drum and scratch sounds!
Armor of the Master Battle
He moves around super quickly! He can split his Keyblade and drop them, releasing a pillar of fire. He also attacks with chains that dig into the ground and shoots out laser beams.
No Heart Battle
He summons a Keyblade, the grip part of which floated about in the center. His hand extends and the Keyblade is held aloft in his hand.
Additional information from the latest issue of V-Jump: You’ll be able to win a trophy for defeating him, as well as items and command panels.
Demo impressions from Arika at Rebirth Wings:
Single Player Mode
It seems the trailer playing while waiting in line for the mega theater was the same as the one played inside.
I played as Ven first.
Using the Illusion R command, the Shoegazer Unversed was a different color. You could use the triangle button to release the Finishing command, Rush Charge. During the first round of Thunder commands I was able to confirm Rhythm Mixer as a battle style. As for the finishing command, the button order went square, triangle, circle, circle. Very fun!
As for the Single player mode, I thought everyone had Ven so far but I saw that Aqua was available too.
I didn’t use Ven’s Illusion command this time, instead I used the Union Rush command.
The queue line for BbS Final Mix is a bit empty…
Aqua’s level takes place in Neverland, but I skipped the cutscenes and the enemy mobs. Doing that I was able to see a cutscene where Vanitas delivers a crushing blow to Aqua in Destiny Islands. The staff around me looked quite surprised I rushed through it, I’m really sorry!
I tried to use the Illusion L command, up until now I was unsure how it’s work but it was quite easy to use.
It looked as though the Laser Bunny enemies appeared in that place too…
Multiplayer Mode
Ah, I’m in trouble! After defeating his eyes three times, by round 5 I was trapped inside Monstro surrounded by the stomach acids and running out of room to stand.
I was able to confirm Aqua’s Illusion S command. She turned into a different colored Medicine Bottle Unversed, and could execute the Aroma Therapy finishing move. Do I really want to blow off the opportunity to try that move?
Next time I played Terra in the multiplayer mode. I was also able to confirm that “Daisy Sorbet” ice cream had an interaction with the Rhythm Mixer battle style.
Also, you could stun Monstro when he was swimming on top the water. If you did that, you could ride his tongue.
I forgot to mention pressing the X button to swim helped speed it up, sorry about that.
The music during the fight against Monstro was the same arrangement as in Kingdom Hearts. Inside Monstro’s body were tumorous growths you could jump on. It was similar to how in Chain of Memories slapping the growths would make them spurt acid.
There is something I’m forgetting still…
When Monstro is underwater, he will usually use a leaf cutter attack that confuses. If you attack him three times while he is submerged, he will emerge unwillingly.
Demo impressions from Aibo at FF-Reunion:
Multiplayer Mode
The multiplayer demo battle took place at Monstro. Three players began inside Monstro’s body, fighting within him. Once you inflicted enough damage on his inner walls, he spat you out and you begin to fight him from the outside. Monstro would pass underwater, then appear on the water’s surface repeatedly. Within a time limit of about 3 minutes, he would swallow the players up again. You could approach Monstro by swimming in the water, and if you timed your strike with the Keyblade right, you could be launched back on land and deal him damage.
Monstro’s life gauge is about 8 bars? Even though all three of us inflicted damage by launching at him, the half the HP of one eye’s gauge still remained, lol. Sufficient team work was really important. His strength was a little scary, but I think if we had the time we could have defeated it.
Event Images
There images of the postcards being given away to guests as well as the event booths. The Sora statuette from the Re:Coded launch was setup again and a small tree with Kingdom Hearts Mobile charms as ornaments was setup around the Mingle Mode event booth. The photo of the Re:Coded avatar is of series director Tetsuya Nomura‘s avatar in the Mingle event!
